Anwar al-Awlaki, an episodically cartoonish arch-enemy of the West, remains a visible, if not so popular "sheikh" on the world Islamic scene. Many myths have been played up, not so much because there is a big secret, but moreso because his life is confusing. That confusion diminishes with a simple explanation of self-radicalism, but looking closer, the radicalism morphs, into something possibly more sinister. As the author of the Islamic curriculum for ISIS, his radical nature is embraced by the worst of the global salafi-jihadis. As "unknown entities" constantly upload his lectures for click bait his ability to attract criminal radical Islamists is well known, but how did he evolve and is it as simple as saying he was a bin Laden disciple from the beginning? I think that has been disproven thus far. But the truth may be more fascinating than any fiction being peddled today. Anwar al-Awlaki could have been bigger than Ahmed Deedat or even Yusuf al-Qaradawi. He would have overshadowed all of the London based fundamentalists and the Middle East Gulf state puppet Muftis. And for that reason alone, he was noticed. In a Muslim world that exalts the likes of Yusuf Estes, Musa Cerantonio, Ibrahim Siddiq Conlon, Feiz Muhammad, Abdur Raheem Green, Hamza Tzortzis, Suhaib Webb, and Pierre Vogel, one can easily surmise that benefactors in the Middle East, actively headhunt pale-faced orators in order to proselytize to the West at large. And while Awlaki may be Yemeni by ethnicity, he truly emanates most of what it is to be American, having been born in New Mexico and living with a clear-eyed understanding of what it is to be American and Muslim, at the same time. More than likely he was noticed by London and Gulf States long before the US was keeping tabs on him. Unlike Musa Cerantonio, he may not have been offered his own television show, but reason would dictate that his offers must have been both numerous and attractive, given his oratorical skills. The world is in a state of affect, from well funded sources that desire control over the Muslim Ummah, and control is the correct word. After all, sharia itself, is, in contrast to the freedom of constitutional republics and monarchies, a "control" over the people, that must be actively enforced by men. Yet this control, is not the same as radicalization and before control can be exercised, the radicals must be eliminated. Two points of view, exist on radicalization where the West intersects with the East. One point of view is the RAND/SAUDI/USA point of view that Muslims exist in 4 categories of which one, the moderates, is acceptable. At the beginning, Awlaki appears to be a strong moderate. The other point of view is the Brookings/London/Qatar point of view, that Muslim activism has similarities to Christian and other activism, and simply needs to be moderated via political participation, even if this means giving radical extremists an activist voice. The two points of view are at odds with each other, all over the world. In short the former believes in killing off the violent radicals and the latter believes in holding their hands until they self moderate, even if collateral damage occurs. At the present time, you could say that the world is mired in a messy mix of both philosophies.

Abdullah Azzam recruits for Jihad

In 1979 Abdullah Azzam wrote "The Defense of Muslims Lands" calling for liberating Muslim lands from foreign occupiers. Unfortunately, this work and the beliefs espoused would eventually be turned onto the West, not just the Soviet Union, for whom this was originally written. Azzam's travels brought him into the USA where he or his associates raised funds for jihad in Afghanistan across 26 states. All in all, Azzam recruited 16,000 to 20,000 fighters from over 20 countries, to join in his jihad. And at this time, the West was all for it and all in.

Grand Mosque Seizure

In November 1979, Juhayman al-Utaybi and his fellow rebels took over the Grand Mosque in Mecca, the holiest sanctuary in Islam, beginning what would become one of the most spectacular events in the modern history of Saudi Arabia. By the end of the siege, the Grand Mosque was drenched in blood and its rebel leader and his co-conspirators were shortly beheaded for their crime.

Two things caused a massive proliferation of wahhabism in the world after the Juhayman attack on the Grand Mosque. One was the boost in oil revenue in Saudi Arabia, and the second was a deal made with the Wahhabists by the Saudi regime, after recluctant cover was provided by the Ulema to the Royal Family for the attack and its aftermath. The Ulema, like Juhayman, were suspicious of their Royal benefactors. The solution was proving support by propagation throughout the world. In a very real way, this spread the pain everywhere, preventing its metastasis, solely in Saudi Arabia. Some opinions are that by exporting jihad to the West it was prevented in the kingdom, but more likely, the reigning Royal Family, was just looking to survive, a possible revolution, in their own country.
In any case, the madness of Awlaki, truly begins here, since so much of the future motivation of Radical Islamic Jihad, starts with the consequences of the Juhayman Grand Mosque seizure.

In 1991, Anwar al-Awlaki took a few weeks to travel to Afghanistan, hoping to get a taste of what is known by Gulf Muslims, as "vacation jihad". Apparently and as investigated by author Scott Shane, Awlaki was disappointed to find nothing but cold and inaction. By this time the battles between mujahideen and national forces were few and far between, and the Soviet Army had long retreated. Awlaki returned home disappointed. Interestingly, during the Awlaki project and publishing of Inspire Magazine, Awlaki lied about his experience in Afghanistan and fabricated greater meaning when publishing his inciting propaganda.

Masjid ar-Ribat Mosque in San Diego begins

According to Anwar al-Awlaki, a nearby mosque was not conservative enough, so donors were found to establish a new mosque nearby, that could house 200 to 300 ultra conservative Muslims, in a smaller setting. This mosque would eventually give safe haven to a few radicals of notable repute. What is missing from this trivia however, is that when Saudi funders put forth money, for a satellite mosque due to conservative unrest, they know they are both solving and creating a problem. Therefore, this mosque, by definition, was under watch. And Awlaki himself alluded to the notion, in an interview, that Saudi had indeed infiltrated the mosque, long before America attempted to.

Masood Azhar visits the site of the destruction of Babri Masjid

Masood Azhar laments the loss of the Babri Masjid, saying “I remember the day I was standing there. In front of me lay the Babri Masjid in ruins. Angrily, I was stamping the ground, squashing the Indian soil with my shoes and saying, ‘O Babri Masjid, we are ashamed, O Babri Masjid, we are sorry…you were a sign of our glorious past and we will not rest till we restore you to your former glory.’” Azhar would go on to author the book "The Virtues of Jihad" and anger inspired diatribe with intricately researched Islamic Hadith, that espouses violent jihad. Infiltration of the GIA (Armed Islamic Group of Algeria) ramps up and violence rules the day.

On September 26, 1994, the emir of the unified GIA, Cherif Gousmi, was killed by police forces during a clash, together with another GIA leader. Djamel Zitouni, who was with him, miraculously escapes. Rumored history has it, that Djamel Zitouni and Antar Zouabri, are agents of the Algerian government. Once they take control of the GIA the violence goes off the scale with deaths of foreign diplomats and Algerian citizens. Eventually the violence is too much for a Muslim population to tolerate and the Algerian citizens begin to break out of the non-judgemental shell of Islamism and begin to publicly refute their fellow Muslims in the GIA. But it took a great deal of violence to get to this point. What the Algerian Experience teaches, is that Muslims will stand by as radical Islamists destroy civility in a country because they believe these mujahideen, might be righteous under the religion of Islam. It is only after extremely unjust violence, that some fighters leave and public opinion turns against the GIA, against the violent Islamists.

Djamel Zitouni publishes "The Origins of the Salafists and Duties of the Mujahideen"

This 62 page document written in Arabic is referred to as "The Origins of the Salafists and Duties of the Mujahideen" or "Guidelines of the Lord of the Two Worlds in Clarifying the Origins of the Salafi and the Obligations of the Mujahidin to Enroll. Basically, this book vilifys government, bureaucracy, Muslim authority working with government, and all people who embrace a form of Islam too contemporized and secular for the taste of the GIA. Literally, the GIA Islam is so extreme, it seeks to kill and purge many Muslims and assaults brutally, the civil life of Algeria, so much so, that eventually Algerians reject the GIA. The prevailing wisdom has it, that the Algerian government infiltrated the GIA and turned it so violent that the people rejected violent and radical Islam. Unfortunately, as a model, it is too heinous and too much a violation of human rights to simply duplicate although it offers the revelation that once you get radical Islamists going they will do just about anything that is said to be, of Islam. Anwar al-Awlaki moves to San Diego

From 1996–2000, al-Awlaki was imam of the Masjid Ar-Ribat al-Islami mosque in San Diego, California, where he had a following of 200–300 people. In Inspire Magazine #9 Awlaki stated in an article, that "It would have been easier for the Saudi's or some other Arab states to gain access to the private running of the mosque than it would have been for the US government." Awlaki says this in remembering that he suspected Americans were in fact trying to infiltrate the mosque. But another possibility is that he is basically revealing that the Saudi government, or another Arab state, had in fact, not only setup the mosque but infiltrated it as well.

Awlaki's first prostitute bust

Ceremoniously ending his piety binge, Anwar al-Awlaki is busted for soliciting a prostitute in 1996 and again in 1997. Why he needs to pay for sex at 25 and 26 years old remains a mystery to this day. And btw, the Quran 24/33 appears to support, the 21st century version of "what the right hand possesses", which would be quite simply, "a prostitute". So don't let any under-read authors convince you that Awlaki ever had any shame about purchasing the time of prostitutes. In fact, the best way to ensure the reader that Awlaki is sharia compliant, would be to mention a "madame" within the propagandistic narrative, so as to create a perceived third party whose existence proves, that the relationship is not adultery, but instead, "what the right hand possesses". In all fairness however, years later, Awlaki claimed it was a setup, but apparently he paid fines rather promptly instead of putting up a legal fight. Additionally, Awlaki's characterization of recruitment techniques by the FBI in concert with local police was so unbelievable, it is likely Awlaki fabricated the story to gloss over his actual violation of the law.

Khobar Tower Bombings in Saudi Arabia

The Khobar Towers bombing was a terrorist attack on part of a housing complex in the city of Khobar, Saudi Arabia, located near the national oil company (Saudi Aramco) headquarters of Dhahran and nearby King Abdulaziz Air Base on June 25, 1996. In 1998 and 1999, Awlaki was vice president of the Charitable Society for Social Welfare Inc., the U.S. branch of a Yemeni charity headed by Abdul Majeed al-Zindani. He had been visited by Ziyad Khaleel, an Al Qaeda operative who purchased a battery for Osama bin Laden’s satellite phone. And once again, instead of notating the board staff, directors, or others who may have directed Awlaki's actions from within this organization, as a means of insulating themselves from contact with the Al Qaeda facilitator, the focus was erroneously placed on Awlaki, and of course went down in history as a big "nothing to do with anything."

Al Qaeda meeting in Kuala Lumpur

Lasting 4 days, an Al Qaeda meeting is called to discuss the October 2000 bombing of the USS Cole and the September 11, 2001 WTC Attack. Malaysian authorities take pictures of the suspects and both Nawaf al-Hamzi and Khalid al-Midhar are observed. Both men later travel to the United States, eventually to be accommodated and assisted by Anwar al-Awlaki. The CIA fails to report the entry of these known Al Qaeda operatives to other agencies, hence they are not put on a watch list. Both men entered the USA, proceeded to the Masjid Ar-Ribat al-Islami Mosque in San Diego, where Anwar al-Awlaki had been designated to assist them. The bizarre story of Mohdar Abdullah

Yemeni man insists he did not know of 9/11 plot. "Abdullah was arrested as a material witness in late September 2001. He spent 32 months in U.S. jails and prisons as the FBI and the Justice Department investigated his ties to Almihdhar, Alhazmi and a network of immigrant friends, all of whom congregated around the Rabat mosque in a suburb of San Diego. Commission investigators complained that they were never able to interview Abdullah before he was deported. Abdullah refused to cooperate, and the Justice Department declined to grant him immunity from prosecution to compel his cooperation. The panel also is critical of the government’s decision to allow Abdullah’s deportation, arguing that unanswered questions about his case require further examination. Abdullah’s first alleged contact with Alhazmi and Almihdhar came in February 2000. According to the commission, he may have driven them from Los Angeles to San Diego. Abdullah denies it. The two would-be hijackers sought out another person they had met recently in Los Angeles, Omar Bayoumi, at the Islamic Center of San Diego. The hijackers later found their way to the Rabat mosque, a humble building nestled amid palm trees and ranch homes in La Mesa, 10 miles from the well-established and, by reputation, more moderate Islamic Center of San Diego. On a recent Friday, as families crowded the Islamic Center, the Rabat mosque appeared almost abandoned, its gates locked and mailbox overflowing. Anwar al-Awlaki is attacked by Sheikh Abdullah el-Faisal

London based, Sheikh Faisal took offense to a lecture by Awlaki that was given at the San Diego Mosque where Awlaki worked. It is odd that Sheikh Faisal would attack Awlaki, but it does show that London was aware of Awlaki's powerful moderate voice, and that Faisal accuses Awlaki of preaching CIA Islam, means that he sees Awlaki as a "RAND" oriented threat to the more radical (London) project of rousing up Islamists so they will become politically active in London and then self-moderate via confrontation within democratic activity (similar to the Brookings outlook of Islamic matters). The recording, aside from revealing Faisal's targeted approach to Awlaki reveals that London is watching Imams in America. One might even surmise that this is where Faisal's benefactors began to recruit Awlaki into the same shadowy organization, because eventually, in 2008, both Awlaki and Faisal would offer speeches in the same conference in South Africa. This conference was put on by an organization, that by all records, existed, only for the purpose of that one conference, meant to incite radical Islam.

The USS Cole bombing was a terrorist attack against the United States Navy guided-missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG-67) on 12 October 2000, while it was being refueled in Yemen's Aden harbor. Seventeen American sailors were killed and 39 injured in the deadliest attack against a United States naval vessel since 1987. Mythical 911 connection and open FBI case

In and around 2001, after September 11th, numerous investigations targeted suspicious Muslims, including Awlaki, who in fact had prior contact with 911 hijackers. Anwar al-Awlaki reportedly met with 9/11 hijackers Khalid al-Mihdhar, Nawaf al-Hazmi and Hani Hanjour in San Diego. However, it would suffice to say that, those who DID NOT have contact with the 911 hijackers, probably thought themselves insulated from prosecution. Eventually an investigator would discover a seemingly cryptic conversation with neighbor Higgie who recounted that Awlaki said he was going to Virginia, then soon to Yemen, and likely would not return, and Higgie would likely know why. Understandably many reporters want to make hay of a coy Awlaki not being 100% clear about his actual plans. Awlaki allegedly says words to the effect of "you will know soon". Of course the spectre is of predicting 9/11. The problem with this, is that a true salafi would not brag, boast, or show off in this manner. It is both unislamic and unstrategic behavior. And since his application successfully went through, the likely explanation is that Awlaki, who at times, surprised his neighbor with free food prepared by his wife, was likely going to be revealed, as being part of something big, in Yemen. Of course the 9/11 attacks changed everyones plans and perhaps Awlaki forgot to reach out to his old neighbor. So... could those close to Awlaki have had connections to the 9/11 hijackers ? It's possible! And could those individual have manipulated Awlaki without informing him, as a means of insulating themselves? Absolutely! But until proof is provided, this is only conjecture. The right place to look however, would be those who Awlaki associated with at the time, had influence and control over him at the time, and provided him resources, at that time. So whoever those people were, that used Awlaki as an unknowing but useful insulator, they probably feel pretty safe if no one was smart enough to see that the lack of probable cause on them was due to their ingenuity in delegating hands on responsiblity to the unknowing, Awlaki. Awlaki, who the FBI cleared of a connection to the 9/11 hijackers.

But if a reason is really necessary to prove that Awlaki had a mission to execute in Yemen, as Mr Higgie apparently stated to news organizations, then one must look to the real world through a pre-9/11 lens. What happened ? ... The Cole Bombing, that is what happened. When sifting through much of the theory and fact prior to 9/11, one plausible reason that so many people ignored indicators of a potential airplane based attack, could be, that everyone was still reeling from the successful attack on the naval ship, The USS Cole. Awlaki may very well have been planning to engage in a deployment to Yemen to reckon with Al Qaeda either for the government of Yemen or for others. Certainly, a successful hit on Al Qaeda, in retribution for the Cole Attack could propel Awlaki into a Ministry or Parliamentary job, in Yemen. And who knows after that... the Presidency ? So if Awlaki was going to Yemen via a short stay at GWU and felt it was necessary to tell his trusted neighbor Mr Higgie, clearly 9/11 changed these plans, because post 9/11 Awlaki told his brother he was staying put in the USA. And in fact, when a new threat became the reality of Al Qaeda, a reason was created to deploy Awlaki out of the United States, whether he liked it or not. And London was the city most intelligence officials feared, was up on the list, after 9/11.

Mentioning Iraq, he says they are starving to death. The Palestinian issue is important to Awlaki and he believes Americans should show support. Also Jamil Amin is a matter Awlaki believes should have support by Muslims. But what is interesting is that prior to this point, Amin was documented calling for revolution in America. Amin's fanatical opposition to established politics likely have made the government fearful of Amin's motivations, yet here, Awlaki is promoting the inclusion of Amin, in the activist work of his fellow Muslims.

Awlaki is observed at Olive Garden

By this very day, a great deal of surveillance has been completed on Anwar al-Awlaki, much of it revealing a mundane life of travel to and from home to mosque. Before closing the domestic file on Awlaki, the FBI made this interesting discovery, that must have left an impression on anyone reading Awlaki's file. While sitting in an Olive Garden restaurant, Anwar al-Awlaki was observed reading Samuel Huntington's book, titled Clash of Civilizations. According to the official record, Awlaki had recently been in Florida. One thing happening in Florida was intense preparation for the upcoming deployments to Afghanistan. If Awlaki had secretly been a contracted trainer for military deployments, he may very well have come into contact with an academic who explained that a lot of the philosophy behind Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda crew, could be explained by Samuel Huntington's book. Hence Awlaki's sudden interest. This book proposes that future conflict will be over people's cultural and religious identities. Huntington explains that non-Western countries are becoming modern while not becoming Western, and because of this, the West will need to maintain its military might in order to protect its interests in emerging nations. Also, it will require the West to develop a more profound understanding of the basic religious and philosophical assumptions underlying other civilizations and the ways in which people in those civilizations see their interests. If it is true that Anwar al-Awlaki believed in this book, then someone may very well have recruited Awlaki to produce propaganda that strengthens and not only educates on core Islamic values, but that also exploits and attempts to implode jihadists values. By doing so, Muslim civilization could prepare itself to become a constructive member of the global economy, but only if both the global jihadists and the global terrorist hunters can come to a truce and respect both geographic and cultural borders. Since the West always drags human rights and constitutionally based individual rights along with its economic ventures, the needle dips slightly toward a "Muslim" benefactor, as Awlaki's possible source of protection and operational funding. Awlaki's lectures while exploitive of other radical teachings, are at their core, Islamic and purist, though it is debatable as to whether any society in Islams history was truly Islamic in a balanced political and religious sense. In any case, these lectures would eventually be spliced and remixed into the most powerful jihadist recruiting propaganda blitz, the English speaking world ever experienced. And yet their greatest effect, would be on a minute but noticeable group of mentally weak, unstable, and hateful individuals, whose broken psychological states would find comfort in the highly engineered Awlaki propaganda, that taps on cognitive dissonance to create violent jihad. These lectures would in effect, find and purge evil, from within Islam, and expose these individuals for who they really are, concurrently giving cues to good Muslims, that the message is not for them. The timing of Awlaki indugling in this book is interesting, given that the 911 attacks were recent and many social experts on Islam were being tapped for assistance to the military effort in Afghanistan.

The first of several prostitutes was interviewed by "the writer" and an FBI Special Agent. Each subsequent encounter with a prostitute would be followed up within 1 or 2 days with an interview. This pattern of observation and interaction is unusual for a counterterrorism investigation, but it is documented as such. Interestingly, one of the prostitutes recounts that Awlaki says he often travels to Florida, and on those visits also purchases time with "escorts". The public record does not appear to have a "mosque" interest for Awlaki at this time in Florida, leaving one to wonder, if his Florida interest also rekindled his prostitute interest. Certainly at this time a massive number of linguists, specialists, and trainers are being assembled in Florida for the upcoming deployments to Afghanistan from Centcom, but no author has written about a connection between Awlaki and Centcom at this time. MI5 recruited worshippers at Finsbury Park who opposed the hardline stance taken by controversial Muslim cleric Abu Hamza, who often leads prayers there, and asked them to help monitor the activities of extremists. Early last year the agents told their handlers that several groups had been taught to strip and reassemble Kalashnikovs in the mosque's basement. It was not clear if the guns were live or deactivated weapons, which can legally be owned in the UK. ...MI5 has been told by their agents that scores of young men were being sent from the mosque for training at camps in Afghanistan. They reported that consignments of supplies including radio and telecommunications equipment were dispatched to Pakistan for eventual distribution in the Afghan training camps allied to or run by al-Qaeda. They also revealed a complex operation run by some men attending the mosque to provide volunteers with false documents. Although the men recruited by MI5 were not directly involved in the logistics of supplying overseas Mujahideen, the operation was openly talked about at the mosque. The British sources said they had told MI5 that volunteers who had fought in Afghanistan for the Taliban or for Islamic militants in Chechnya and Algeria boasted at the mosque of battles they had taken part in. One of Anwar al- Awlaki's prostitutes tells the madame about the FBI

According to FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) ( http://nsarchive.gwu.edu/NSAEBB/NSAEBB529-Anwar-al-Awlaki-File/ ) requested documents, it is revealed that Awlaki was indulging in prostitutes while Agents were conducting surveillance, and an Executive Memo was the container for agent notification of FBI counsel, of this endeavor. While this seems a bit odd, the absence of actual format reporting appears to be an indication of a lack of desire to prosecute Awlaki, parallel to a strong desire to document. This theory is further reinforced by the refusal of the so called "writer" or Agent authoring the report, to (as reported) contact the "madame" who upon notification by said prostitute, offered assistance in the investigation.
So lets break that down... there is an investigation of a potential terrorist who gets a prostitute, and when the freaked out call girl tells her boss, the boss promptly calls the FBI offering more help, and the FBI says, "thanks but no thanks... no facts today, ma'am!"
This assistance may have been offered if the escort company employing the "madame" knew they had an "out". Additionally, the assistance may have been rejected, if the investigators, knew they were sticking their noses where the sun don't shine... namely, someone elses operation.
If some madames, had arrangements with contractors who were employing massive numbers of linguists temporarily stationed in the Virginia area for upcoming deployments to Afghanistan, the absense of "format-reporting" and the presence of "memos which can be kept in safes", is completely understandable.
Nevertheless, a true investigator would have accepted the information from an additional witness, to strengthen the case. Unless of course, the investigator knew, that speaking to the madame would bring rise to interference from higher government sources. The rejection as documented, highlights the investigator's lurid "desire to know" being more important than a desire to prosecute..
Confounding to any theory of what this memo really means, is the usage of the word "reprimanded" as a reference to how the "writer" or agent, communicated with the prostitute after the phone call from the madame. That's right, the actual report states that the assumed "investigating officer" REPRIMANDED the call-girl to not tell her boss what was going on!
One does not "reprimand" a witness, one "admonishes" a witness or requests them to not share information about an ongoing investigation. It is in fact "managers" not "investigators" who reprimand, thereby leading one to ponder on the thought, that a "manager" may have authored their own memo, without any true to life accounts of investigators or prostitutes! But that would mean the document was illegally represented as something it is not, so that likely is not the case, yet it leaves the mystery of the use of the word "reprimanded" instead of "admonished". This does not appear to be a mistake one investigator, who has no actual power to reprimand, could make on a true report. Of course another possibility is that the federal agent had visions of himself actually being a manager, by virtue of writing the reports, that he projected himself into this position mentally, thereby imagining himself to be a reprimander instead of an admonisher... perhaps.
The pattern of observation and interview of prostitutes, by the FBI appears to end with this encounter.

Moinul Abedin jailed for 20 years

Moinul Abedin was sentenced to 20 years for his role in a bomb plot. Co-conspirator Faisal Mostafa was released, despite being in possession of 4 computer disks containing, among other jihadists documents, the mujahideen's explosives hand book. Abedin's house contained HMTD, an explosive that years later would be sought after by Anwar al-Awlaki. Interestingly, Faisal Mostafa was arrested 3 times for terrorism suspicion and in a fourth incident, in later years, was caught staying up all night on the internet with an American 19 year old girl, as the over 50 year old man attempted to recruit her as a wife for a 45 year old ISIS member. Faisal was also known to be the boss of one Hamza Tzortzis whose role in an organization called IERA sought to propagate Dawah and Islamic instruction online, in a strange pursuit of "mosqueless dawah". Dissuading the 19 year old girl away from the local mosque was also the goal of Faisal Mostafa. Search warrants on Islamic institutions

Reportedly, Awlaki was upset at warrants served two days earlier on Wednesday at Islamic offices in a post 911 raid and expressed his anger in a Friday lecture at the Dar al Hijrah mosque. The strange thing is that Awlaki should have been unaware of the reasons for the warrants yet he did have a detailed list of the locations. He called the warrant serving, a "war against Muslims". At one point in the lecture, Awlaki begins to read a document written by someone else. This is clear, because he begins with "Dear Muslims..." and this immediately is suspect, since Awlaki is not an outsider to Islam. More revealing is when Awlaki mispronounces the word "faults" and says "folies" apparently trying to articulate "faults" typographically written as "faulis". The hadith informs that if a Muslim hides the faults of a Muslim in Dunya, then Allah will hide the Muslim's faults on the day of judgement. Its odd to use this for protection of criminal activity and is more of a relic than normal Islamic discourse and this is made obvious from Awlaki's fumbling of the script. Its an important moment because it demonstrates that early in Awlaki's career, he was utilizing strategic communication scripts from someone else. As well, the hadith he was unfamiliar with is common among radical salafists, but Awlaki was likely unaware of it, since a normal Imam would not offer such instigating propaganda in a typical mosque. Awlaki was encouraging active political support of Islamic leaders in their reaction to the warrants. Awlaki compared Muslims to the struggle by African American minorities and was encouraging Muslims to become more politically active as African Americans have done in the past, in the USA. This lecture shows that Awlaki wanted to use legal means to protest and to assist Muslims to gain political support and assertion of rights in America. Awlaki even called for a settling of differences among Muslim groups to form a political base to have a voice in America. But he was using ground breaking strategic communication research, clearly injected by someone else into his speech. One of the more powerful suspicions he brought up was the possibility that Congress could one day pass a bill to make Islam against the law. This is not the ramblings of a madman, instead this is a Muslim who is concerned that the Muslims he is speaking to are not preventing the human mistakes that the subjects of the search warrants evidently made. The effect of his "instigating speech" would be increased empowerment of Muslims and perhaps increased participation and accountability within Islamic organizations. These organizations would have provided both an outlet for the voice of Muslims as well as an assertion of how Muslims should exercise the role of responsible American citizen. According to Jeremy Scahill, in his book Dirty Wars, a conversation between the Dar al Hijrah mosque Imam, Johari Abdul Malik and Anwar al-Awlaki involved Awlaki's desire not to have to talk about 911 all the time. Johari also mentioned that Awlaki was concerned about his prostitution case. But Awlaki adds into this conversation, that he would like to teach, preach, and have a Gulf television show and perhaps even run for Parliament in Yemen. And additionally, had Awlaki signed up for something else, perhaps in Florida, (*remember Awlaki indulged in escorts during his visits to Florida, with mysterious extra money) and was the FBI now simply bringing interference to an agenda that was already at work ?

Awlaki speaks again to his brother Ammar

Awlaki now feels differently about remaining in America. Here is what happened according to reports, "I was told that the F.B.I. has a file on me, and this file could destroy my life. I’m now rethinking my options, and one of them might be as drastic as leaving the States." - note that he was told, he did not say that the FBI told him. And while it is true that the service he got his prostitutes from informed him of interest from the FBI, this is not the same as "having a file". While it may be true that Awlaki feared revelation of his extra-marital activities, it wasn't as if this activity in San Diego, was not already part of the public record. It was, and given his knowledge of the American legal system and his acute awareness of the FBI's desire to target radicals, the fact is that Awlaki was in the best of bargaining positions. After all, who better to find out more information about the recently targeted agencies, than him. So the matter of Awlaki leaving the country because of prostitutes is silly on its face. The supposition by author, Scott Shane that paying for prostitutes is un-Islamic, is a personal projection by Shane, that is out of place as an impartial author. The mention of an FBI file, to his brother is what is most intriguing. If a D.C. Madame had informed Awlaki that the FBI was asking questions, then this is what they were doing. Claiming that someone "has a file" is a statement only few people could assert. Also, this is not something that an FBI agent would say to a witness being asked questions. So, Awlaki's explanation to his brother, must mean that someone knew about his FBI file. This person would have to be high up in government to know this. Keep in mind that the Dar al-Hijrah group was full of government and other individuals who work in Virginia, and it was an internationally diverse crowd - a perfect place for a foreign recruiter or recruiter from a different agency. Most notably, being at Dar al-hijrah, one should recognize that as a Saudi supported mosque, it would have been unthinkable, for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be unaware of such an exceptional English lecturer of Islamic doctrine. They always were aware and supported and promoted such individuals, wanting to have more English articulators of Islam, well funded and promoted throughout the world.

A Muslim cleric, Sheikh Abdullah el-Faisal, was today convicted of soliciting murder and inciting racial hatred, in the first prosecution of its kind in Britain. While he hopes that the Americans will leave in defeat as the Russians left Afghanistan, he does note the importance of protecting Muslims from Democracy, even referencing the work of Samuel Zwemer as proof that the West seeks to convert Muslims into Christians. Ayeri is very concerned, that given the opportunity, Muslims would choose Democracy over sharia law and believes that if Iraq embraces Democracy, the entire Middle East might do the same too. Ayeri labels the threat to Muslims as "secularist democracy". The goal of democracy, according to Al Ayyeri, is to “make Muslims love this world, forget the next world, and abandon Jihad.” If established in any Muslim country for a reasonably long time, democracy could lead to economic prosperity which, in turn, would make Muslims “reluctant to die in martyrdom” in defence of their faith.

Awlaki lectures on Halloween Night, 2003

Taking from a hadith, reported by Yusuf bin Mahk, regarding a witness to Aisha (https://sunnah.com/bukhari/66/15), Awlaki lectures on the Paradise and Fire. A lecture of this type, historically is given as a means of exerting control on Muslims. But in addition to wanting to control the Muslims he is lecturing to, Awlaki also wants to create envy and disdain. Awlaki does this by committing "takfir" when he proclaims that those Muslims not present and out enjoying Halloween are "in the hellfire". This is an important public moment for Awlaki because he basically uses his Islam, in an "us-them" context, to control the Muslims before him. The history of Islam offers the hadith of Aisha, to control Muslims by mentioning the afterlife, but the context of this is for a ruler or Mufti. Awlaki, by preaching in this manner, leans toward becoming a Khawarij and this manipulation of a minute number of Muslims, could artificially lead to an outcome of violent jihad. Awlaki is well aware that invoking the "Paradise and the Fire", creating an"us-them" outlook, then advancing to a self-aggrandizement of "Taifa al-Mansoura" is basically a step by step cult indoctrination technique. But since most people adapt peacefully to their environments, this process works only on those individuals who are emotionally detached from their surroundings, and those who are vigorously indoctrinated. Given his honorable and straightforward past, it is most certain that Awlaki's venture into perverting Islam, is an agenda coming from someone else. Awlaki lectures in a house being watched by the Home Office

Aimen Dean, an infiltrator for the Home Office, reports that in 2003 he attended a lecture being given by Anwar al-Awlaki in a house, in Dudley. Before, during, and after the lecture, MI-5 was taking pictures of men coming and going from the house. Awlaki activism in London

Awlaki participates in an East London Mosque lecture series. Awlaki is allegedly supporting a new activist UK non-profit group called Stop Police Terror. The intent is to create a Rapid Reaction Force and to "raise, lobby, inform, and create. It is a mix of military jargon and lobbying strategy that would support citizen activism to observe and document abuse giving legal credence to Muslim accusations of mistreatment by police. The group eventually becomes CAGE UK. The most interesting thing about Awlaki initiating an organized group in the UK, is that doing so abides by England's policy of wanting to engage radicals within the framework of the English government. In this case, if Stop Police Terror becomes an approved charity group, then all members are known and none are secret. This is in violation of strategies as previously layed out by Usama bin Laden. Despite these characteristics that almost paint him to be an infiltration of the London Islamist right wing, his time in London is used in popular news to paint a radical face on Awlaki as he continues to grow into a role of "arch-enemy" of the United States. During one speech at the East London Mosque, said to have been titled "Stop Police Terror" Awlaki advised Muslims to not turn fellow Muslims in, to the police if they are suspected of being terrorists. Recounting the story of 1 white and 3 black cows and the wolf, Awlaki used the story to encourage Muslim enmity with the police. Awlaki also used the same hadith he had used in the Dar al-hijrah mosque, but worded it differently this time. Awlaki stressed that parents should take proper care of their children so they will not leave Islam. Awlaki mentioned the large scale arrests of Muslims without charges, who need help from Muslims. More notably, he mentions Palestine, saying Muslims did nothing, and then also adds that other nations are entering into problems, including Kashmir, Chechnya, Philippines, and Iraq, while the Ummah does nothing. Awlaki warns that it will not end there, saying it will spread to other countries, naming only, "Syria". (at this point Iraq has been invaded and two weeks earlier, Saddam Hussein was captured) Morten Storm in his book, Agent Storm, notes that during Awlaki's stay in London, an East London Imam stated in reference to Awlaki, "he left the congregation all revved up with nowhere to go". This was a reference to Awlaki's activism against "the establishment". Yet, it was also known at this time that Awlaki's more private, invitation-only house lectures, were much more radical in nature. Morten Storm could not pin down the source of Awlaki's radicalism, but assumed it to be a mix of vendetta and Islamic zeal. In reality, Awlaki may have been engaging in a peculiar kind of "Agitprop" specifically guided by corrupting doctrines within Islam. A keen listener to Awlaki's lecture would notice a superficial radical edge, that hides his real intent. By creating a cognitive dissonance, Awlaki is actually dividing his listeners into a large group of critical thinkers who shun violent jihad and a tiny group of would be radicals who embrace it. Perhaps he invited the smaller group to his night time "house lectures". This "forced cognitive dissonance" is apparent in both his departing Dar al-Hijrah lecture and the East London Mosque lecture. Shaykh Zindani is designated a global terrorist by USA

The Treasury Department today announced that Shaykh Abd-al-Majid AL-ZINDANI, a loyalist to Usama bin Laden and supporter of al-Qaeda, has been designated by the United States as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist under the authority of Executive Order 13224 and the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The confidential letter from the Foreign Office's top intelligence official, William Ehrman, to the government's security and intelligence co-ordinator, Sir David Omand, dated 23 April 2004, proposed that spies should infiltrate extremist websites posing as radicals and dissuade extremists from taking up arms. A few notable lines are as follows: " Dealing with Islamist extremism, the messages are more complex, the constituencies we would aim at are more difficult to identify, and greater damage could be done to the overall effort if links back to UK or US sources were revealed. The only sources that will be listened to are those with impeccable Muslims credentials. .......I believe SIS are already talking to their liaisons in the Arab world who are engaged in "hearts and minds" activity, to see what we can learn, and if we can help export models used by eg Egyptians or Saudis. We should recognise understanding of the ideological issues, and more potential conduits for the message, than we do-but there may be scope for channelling these efforts more productively. The McColl paper also mentions Cyberspace. I presume there are opportunities for engaging in the debates on Islamist websites, unattributably. But whoever was doing this would need a carefully worked out script. There may also be ways to disrupt or impede extremist websites. I hope some proposals on all this will emerge from the ongoing cross-government work on setting up better systems for monitoring websites. Yusuf al-Ayeri is killed by Saudi Arabia Police. Yusuf al-Ayeri was one of two lieutenants of Osama bin Laden, in charge of domestic terror attacks in Saudi Arabia. He is allegedly the founder of AQAP, and represented a great threat to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in that he desired to attack American interests in the kingdom. However, he did not directly threaten the people or government of Saudi Arabia. * Beyond the short list of reporters/analysts selectively discovering Yusuf al-Ayeri, is the full breadth of his writings, which cover a lot of ground. Ayeri by recognizing the culture war that is being imposed upon Islam and noting the role of the British in completely upending Islam in favor of Democracy, could have become a threat to modernization in the Middle East. He had no illusions about how this will change Islam, yet Ayeri does not appear to begin advocating for bombings in the West. In actuality he merely seeks to push the West out of the Middle East and change the behavior of the rulers. But within his justifications is a condescention and vilification of moderates, or those individuals who fall under the umbrella of "Wasatiyya". Ayeri hates those who contemporize Islam, like encouraging voting, petitions, and political action in opposition to fundamentalist Islam. For some reason, Ayeri seems to be the turning point for Anwar al-Awlaki, who up to about 2004 could quite accurately be described as one of the "Wasatiyya". Yet Awlaki would go on to peculiarly adopt and selectively alter some of Ayeris writings.

Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, publishes A Diplomat’s Call for War

"....Either we, as a state and as a people, are believers, and we are right — and therefore fighting and killing the [terrorists] is a commandment aimed at defending our monotheistic religion and our dear people — or they, Heaven forfend, are the believers, and we, as a state and as a people, are the mistaken ones, and they have the right to kill us — women, children, elderly, and our guests. If we [decide upon one] of the options, the picture will become clearer, and we will be divided into two parts: The first [includes those] who are with us, as a Muslim state ruling according to the law of Allah, and as a people believing in the law of Allah and in the way [Sunnah] of His Prophet. The second [includes] those who deviate from the religion. We, as a state and as a people, must insist that all choose between the truth, in which we believe, and the lie, which we think that those who deviate [from the religion] are advocating. In my opinion, with all due modesty and respect, our honorable clerics must call for the ruler to declare Jihad against these deviants, and give him [i.e., the ruler] complete support in this matter, and be determined about it, since whoever keeps silent [and refrains from speaking about] the truth is a mute Satan....." - an excerpt from the full article. Bandar bin Sultan was proposing that the kingdom of Saudi Arabia declare jihad on the jihadists. While this might run afoul of international relations regarding human rights, it was nevertheless, an excellent expression of the frustration that the Saudi Kingdom felt in its continuing struggle to prevent revolution in their own country as well as prevent jihad, in others.

Awlaki begins lecturing at Imam University in Sanaa, Yemen, a school led by Abdul Majeed al-Zindani. Zindani is a known supporter to Al Qaeda at this time. It is important to remember that Awlaki could have done anything. His father was a tribal leader and close to the government. Storytelling and Terrorism: Towards a Comprehensive 'CounterNarrative Strategy'

A scholarly paper written by James A. Russell and William D. Casebeer explains.... "Myth creation usually involves the effective use of narrative. As we formulate an “affective strategy,” we should keep the elements of a narrative in mind, for it is only by disrupting the story that you can interfere with myth creation. Good stories need protagonists, antagonists, tests for the protagonist, a promise of redemption, and a supporting cast of characters (at the very least). Disrupting al Qaeda’s foundational myth may involve undermining the belief that we are the antagonists in the narrative bin Laden is constructing."
-- The unfortunate reality, of the quote from this scholarly article - http://www.au.af.mil/au/awc/awcgate/nps/casebeer_mar05.pdf is that redefining heroism in Islam with less violence, is propaganda and simply not permissible under the American Constitution. An additional conundrum is that "undermining the belief that we are the antagonists" means "proving the belief that we are the victims" and this concept as a central theme to any operation would be by definition, heinous and a gross violation of human rights. And yet, a knowledgeable Muslim like Awlaki, playing his role as an Arab in Yemen, independently and not a part of anyone's military project and not hired by Ali Saleh to undermine AQAP, is better situated to become the VNSA (Violent Non State Actor) that just like in the Algerian experience with GIA, becomes so violent, that, not just MOST of Muslims reject him, but eventually ALL OF MUSLIMS, reject him. If Awlaki by himself, used this document to build his persona, or worse, involved a team to assist him with "making Islam the villain and the West, its victims", then all are possibly guilty of crimes against humanity.
Because this paper is so unique in its declared solution to Islamic radicalism, and because Awlaki is so unique in his license to create new narratives as a pretend "Islamic Scholar", it stands to reason that Awlaki was directed by someone who read this research article, or Awlaki directly read it and acted upon it himself. No Muslim would do what Awlaki did and no Muslim in the history of Islam did what Awlaki did. By the time 2008 came about, Awlaki's Hearts and Minds speech was an assertive admission that having read RAND's "Civil Democratic Islam" as well as the Pentagon's Quadrennial Defense Review, Awlaki was a voracious reader and consumer of American Military Strategy against the Islamic threat. 2005 7 July: 7/7 central London bombings conducted by four separate Islamist extremist suicide bombers, which targeted civilians using the public transport system during the morning rush hour. Three bombs were detonated on three separate trains on the London Underground and one on a double-decker bus. 56 people were killed and 700 were injured. It was the UK's worst terrorist incident since the 1988 Lockerbie bombing and the first Islamist suicide attack in the country, resulting in massive death and injury. It would also be the last, for several years. Given the atrocity of the attack, now a means must be developed to rid Britain of its jihadists.

Anwar al-Awlaki creates his "Constants on the Path to Jihad" lecture

The author of “Constants,” Yusuf al-Ayeri, died in 2004, but Awlaki presents the work of Ayeri the first Al-Qaeda leader in Saudi Arabia, who constantly used the internet to recruit youth for Al Qaeda. Awlaki used this work as an ideological weapon, pointed squarely at the West. Awlaki fostered a cognitive dissonance that shuns the average sane Muslim who will readily be repulsed by the perversions of Islamic sensibilities, but correspondingly seek out heinous individuals who will find themselves drawn to violence against the West in the name of Islam. One clue as to his intent is at 2:30 in the first recording, that declares that Ayeri, was killed by the "security forces of the Arabian peninsula." The truth is, he was killed by Saudi Arabian Police and the avoidance of saying so, literally underscores, at least in this moment, the strong desire of Awlaki, not to offend the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Awlaki declared that Ayeri studied in the "university of prison", which is a strange foreboding of his Yemeni jail stay during which he would study radical Islamic books. Awlaki also declares that one of the "variables" in Islam is the way a Khalifah is chosen and again this foretells the role of Awlaki doctrine for the future evolution of ISIS. Most damning, Awlaki declares that all "terrorism" is actually "jihad", a declaration that would surely make any Islamic scholar cringe. Another mistake is in the first recording during which he confuses "fighting" for "jihad" in reference to Quran 2/216. Perhaps Awlaki was intentionally changing the doctrine of Islam and misleading his audience from Ayeri's actual document, for a specific purpose. It truly is impossible for an Imam to make this mistake. Without a doubt it was intentional. Perhaps the answer to this mystery is vested with two issues: First, the addition of a story titled "People of the Ditch" or "The King and the Boy" was NOT used in quite the same manner as Yusuf Al Ayeri did, but using this story to promote jihad is odd since the true to history event, was about a Jewish King who killed Christians in Yemen and the ensuing takeover of Yemen by Christians. It was Christians who were steadfast in their belief, not Muslims and this event was in the early 6th century, late enough for witnesses to recount the story to Muhammad. So its use to promote Jihad for Islam is a bit condescending. Second, the English speaking 3rd party, who wrote the document about Awlaki's lecture and called himself "Mujahid Fe Sabeelillah" is an unknown entity. Possibly this person coached Awlaki on the cognitive effect called CONTEXTUAL IMPLICATION, since Awlaki would go on to perfect this technique, as he crafted his doctrine from all four schools of Islamic Sunni thought, collating these ideas into a narrative that armed Awlaki to indoctrinate future radicals, many of whom would, die, kill, engage in warfare, or be put into prison, in the coming years. So the sum of these two things is that a Christian influence, possibly one quite knowledgable of one Samuel Zwemer and his effect on Yusuf al-Ayeri, has hijacked Ayeri in order to mute the revolutionary overtones of his propaganda. Taken in this light, the weird alteration of Ayeri begins to make sense, as more of an "infiltration" agenda rather than a true to life "jihadist" agenda.
One notable trait of the uploaded lecture series, is that the visual cover attributes the lecture to "Ibn Nasser". The Haditha killings (also called the Haditha massacre or the Haditha incident) refers to the November 19, 2005, incident in which a group of United States Marines killed 24 unarmed Iraqi civilians. Of course everyone knows that all jihadist plots to attack America, are in fact, religious conversations, questions, and answers, because that is how they are framed, by all Islamic jihadists that commit violence. He was released without trial after a year in prison." But this explanation makes no sense. Yemen is a tribal population. Anwar al-Awlaki is a son to a tribal leader and any affront to a shiite tribe by a sunni tribal member of prominence would immediately elicit a response involving many people. Also, the wealth and privilege that Awlaki has access to, because of his family ties, make kidnapping a wholly unnecessary activity. Further yet, if Awlaki wanted to kidnap a shiite, given his childhood friendship to Ahmed Ali Saleh, the son of President Ali Abdullah Saleh (ref: page 156 https://books.google.ca/books?id=MdbVDAAAQBAJ), such a matter would likely fall into Awlaki's favor.

Negroponte wants Awlaki imprisoned

According to Jeremy Scahill, in his book, "Dirty Wars", a conversation is revealed from a source, in which John Negroponte, the DNI at the time, informed the Yemen ambassador that Awlaki should be locked up, because America does not want him to influence young people. What is so odd about this request, is that DNI's do not normally ask for the constitutional rights of American citizens to be violated. But also, at that particular time, most of Awlaki's activity appears to have supported the creation of visible political activity in London, and in Yemen, Awlaki simply was gathering Westerners studying Islam at al-Iman University to meet, segregated from the rest of the al-Iman students. One possibile explanation of this encounter, is that in the Middle East the "Intelligence Agencies" do have power over people and sometimes quite draconian and unaccounted power, so in terms of "equals" speaking to each other, this conversation may have been for the explicit benefit of selling a policy position, to Yemen Intelligence at the behest of another agency, possibly Saudi Intelligence, who also had a representative at the meeting. Quite clearly, the most damning indictment on Negroponte, is that if it is true that AMERICA FEELS AWLAKI IS A RADICAL THREAT, why is it, so many years later that, THE FBI REFUSED TO INVESTIGATE MAJOR NIDALHASAN WHO WAS TRIGGERED BY AWLAKIS DOCTRINAL TEACHINGS ? In the future, Awlaki's lectures are in fact deemed damaging and inflammatory but this would not be publicly revealed until after his incarceration and his resulting internet activities. One lecture, titled Constants on the Path to Jihad seems to be a purposeful contortion of Islamic doctrine and rationalization of a book by a Saudi Arabian radical, who was a grave threat to the Saudi Kingdom. But Yusuf al-Ayeri became a threat outside of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, only after Anwar al-Awlaki re-interpreted al-Ayeri's writings, using them to compel British Muslims into the war arenas of Iraq and Afghanistan, where some became suicide bombers.

Yemeni authorities say they “dismantled an al-Qa'ida cell and disrupted a gun-running ring to neighbouring Somalia”. It was later reported that the key to the raids was Shaikh Anwar Al Awlaki - identified in the media as 'Abu Atiq' - who was arrested six weeks before the October 17 raid. Media reports allege of his role in a foiled plot to bomb oil and gas facilities in Yemen. Further media allegations assert that Shaikh Anwar is a protege of Shaikh Abdul al-Majid al-Zindani of the Al Eman University in San’a. Shaikh Zindani is listed as a “terrorist” by the US. Shaikh Anwar is believed to be held in Central Security Prison in San'a. Locals in Sanaa say that two stories of the complex above ground sit above eight stories underground, where torture rooms and darkened cells are often used. Awlaki infiltrates al-Nadhari, a top sharia authority in AQAP

Awlaki is imprisoned with one of AQAP's top Shariah officials, Harith bin Ghazi al-Nadhari, who later brags in an article, that Awlaki was in control of an interrogation done up on him by Americans. In fact, al-Nadhari is so impressed with Anwar al-Awlaki that AQAP rolls out the red carpet for Awlaki, and the rest is history. The funny thing about this infiltration of al-Nadhari, is that in order to believe it, as al-Nadhari did, one would have to actually believe that 5 years after 9/11 the FBI actually had questions to ask Awlaki, that they needed to fly to Yemen to have answered, even though Awlaki was free and accessible for years after the event, in both America and England. The fact of the matter is, while maybe he was just a "bad guy" the sum of things is that, in 2003 Awlaki appeared to be serving the interests of England by harvesting radicals during daytime lectures and collecting them in one place for night time lectures the home office could monitor. In 2004 Awlaki served the interests of Australia by providing a focal point in Yemen, for Aussie imports who traveled to study under Zindani. In 2005 Awlaki served the interests of England by creating a lecture series entitled Constants on the Path of Jihad that convinced radical Islamists to travel to Iraq and Afghanistan, where they unfortunately-blew up a lot of Americans and Muslims too. Then in 2006 Awlaki had an opportunity to serve the interests of Yemen by infiltrating Al Qaeda after a nasty jail break, while Ali Saleh pretended to assist the United States. Spending 2007 in "prison", in 2008 Awlaki's blog is attracting attention and his instigation of suicide bombers is gaining increasing clarity among US analysts. In 2009 he assists England with the rescinding of section 44 of the UK Terrorism law of 2000 by creating a small pamphlet of 44 ways to do jihad which is in reality, 44 ways to get noticed, discovered, and reported to the authorities. In 2010 Awlaki verified the United State's worst fears by publishing a pdf magazine (with the help of a patsy who mysteriously evaded certain arrest by traveling to Yemen via Qatar) that would go on to instigate numerous killings and death, all of which attacks, could have been predicted, had law enforcement taken the propaganda more seriously. Unfortunately, numerous innocent people were killed as a result of Awlaki propaganda and most regrettably, no discernible thought reformation occured among English speaking Muslims, as a result of Awlaki's violent propaganda. Quite justifiably, in 2011 Awlaki is said to have been droned and killed. Strangely his son and daughter would disappear as well, allegedly into drone strikes as well.

Allah is Preparing Us for Victory
In this 2006 sermon entitled, “Allah is Preparing us for Victory,” al-Awlaki said that robbery and extortion of non-Muslims was the strategy the Islamic Prophet Mohammed prescribed for conducting Jihad, the central mission of Islam. Al-Awlaki said: “Leave the farming to the people of the book [Jews and Christians], you go and spread the religion of Allah [through jihad]; they will farm and they will feed you; they will pay Jizya [extra tax], they will pay Kharaaj [tribute], if the sustenance of the Prophet Mohammed was through Ghaneema [plunder] it must be the best and better than farming, business, shepherding and better than anything else because Mohammed said: ‘My sustenance comes beneath the shadow of my spear.’” Awlaki also discusses how war in Iraq and Afghanistan will bankrupt the United States and confirms this strategy. Mysteriously, reports are that Anwar al-Awlaki was imprisoned for 18 months. Awlaki was released in December 2007. This speech appears to have been released in December 2006, yet an 18 month imprisonment means that Awlaki made this speech and released the speech, from prison. Equally as puzzling, is that now open source records reveal the possibility that FBI agents visiting Yemen, may have been planning to bring a polygrapher. So while there is ample evidence to suggest that Awlaki was on a path of radicalism inciting violence and perhaps deserved prison, why would a polygraph be needed for a simple interview which if genuine, would be adversarial at the very least ?
Aside from the great polygraph mystery is yet another one involving the following excerpt from the lecture:
"Abu Sufyan sent a letter to Abu Jahl - who was now the head of the army - telling him to go back to Makkah as the caravan is safe and that he was able to evade the Muslims. But Abu Jahl said, "No, we are going to go and fight them! We are going to go to Badr and we are going to (6:59)party there for three days and we are going to drink wine and women are going to sing for us and we want all the 'Arabs to hear about our expedition and to know that Quraysh cannot be humiliated." We want people to know about our maseer (meaning:fate) So we're gonna party there for three days so that the news will spread all over Arabia FOR PEOPLE TO KNOW, NOT TO PLAY WITH QURAYSH AGAIN."
Now, the funny thing is, that this last statement is not a normal enunciation of Islamic history. To say, "not to play with Quraysh again" is to emulate rap singers with their fanciful rhetoric that mixes the word "play" with forms of conflict. For example, in the rap song called "Don't Play with Me" by Big Ed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcUfI_LWLEA , one can hear the type of rhetoric that Awlaki is presently engaged in. This 2000 Album, SPECIAL FORCES, remained popular for years, inevitably among American soldiers, priming their minds for battle. So it adds even more to the mystery! Since none of Awlaki's lectures before this point indicated any type of street rhetoric as this. In addition, the use of irony and injecting into the historical story, that "we want people to know about our fate" is an ironic setup, more akin to a novel writer than to an Islamic scholar.
Awlaki would not have picked up these rhetorical tools, in a Yemen prison.
So...... where is this mysterious new style coming from and why is Awlaki using verbage that will subtly be recognized by young people, especially in the West, yet shunned by normal Muslims who know a few things about Islam and have access to scholarly sources like an Imam in a mosque ?

John Negroponte steps down as DNI and takes the position of Deputy Secretary of State. As recounted in an article by Seymour Hersh, titled "The Redirection", "The former senior intelligence official also told me that Negroponte did not want a repeat of his experience in the Reagan Administration, when he served as Ambassador to Honduras. “Negroponte said, ‘No way. ASHARQ AL-AWSAT reports on Yusuf al-Ayiri: Al-Qaeda’s Voice from the Grave

In an audio recording posted on a “jihadi” website, Yusuf al-Ayiri the al-Qaeda ideologist and media coordinator who was killed in a security manhunt in Hayil (northern Saudi Arabia) in 2003, gives “new recruits” a lecture on tactics of structuring terror groups in the form of cells or “clusters”. Al-Ayiri explained that both subtypes share the quality of being able to multiply and split into more than one group and cluster, all with separate leadership and unknown to the other cells. Each is headed by an “Amir” who is nominated to lead a limited number of individuals in his cell. This was the organizational pattern adopted by groups hunted down by Saudi authorities, according to the statement of the Interior Ministry which announced on 27April the uncovering of the largest terrorist plot in the Kingdom. The statement said seven separate cells were busted with a total of 172 members from Saudi Arabia and elsewhere. They were united ideologically but split organizationally. In the recording–its exact date is not known– al-Ayiri explains that the key point is to protect the secrecy of the cells in case some are exposed and their members arrested. Each cell has no knowledge about the other dispersed cells that can then begin to change their movements and their locations as soon as an announcement is made about the exposure of one of those groups. Possibly in recognition of recent reports informing that almost half of suicide bombers in Iraq are from Saudi Arabia..... Saudi Mufti Sheikh Abd Al-'Aziz bin Abdallah Aal Al-Sheikh issued a fatwa prohibiting Saudi youth from engaging in jihad abroad. In his fatwa, he stated that setting forth to wage jihad without authorization by the ruler is a serious transgression, and that young Saudis who do so are being misled by suspicious elements from both the East and the West who are exploiting them in order to accomplish their own aims, and who are actually causing serious damage to Saudi Arabia, Islam, and the Muslims. Its an important moment because now, Saudi Arabia in its virtual role as the Islamic "ruler" has now pulled itself out of the business of sanctioning "vacation jihad" as had been done in previous conflicts, like the Afghan war. Therefore, anyone lecturing to Muslims, issuing an Islamic Call to War, would certainly be, by Islamic Standards, an apostate or Khawarij, and absolutely a criminal. Islamically speaking, this is a very important point, because in the history of Islam, declaring war without the sanction of a ruler would have resulted in an almost certain, death sentence.

Morton Storm meets with Awlaki

Awlaki tells Storm that he was in solitary confinement for nine months. Awlaki soon starts expounding on the merits of Syed Qutb, to Storm. Storm notes that Awlaki seemed paranoid. Awlaki mentioned to Storm that he pushed a "CIA" officer into a chair as a protest. In January 2008, Storm decided to introduce Awlaki to Warsame. This is the Awlaki link between Al-Shabaab and AQAP. Awlaki and Warsame exchanged emails so they could communicate later. As for Storm, he and Awlaki agreed to communicate by using a draft folder on one email account, a clever mechanism meant to avoid detection by the intelligence agencies. The Battle of Hearts and Minds
Reflective of the "Hearts and Minds and Muslims Memo from William Ehrman to David Omand" from September 2004 (https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2005/sep/04/uk.Whitehall), This story is an odd reflection on Pentagon strategy and Awlaki proposes to counter American efforts to battle radicalism in Islam. It was a lecture originally broadcast to South America where the population of Tablighi Jamaat is very high, via phone. Interestingly, the entire event featured Awlaki, Moulana Farhad Dockrat, Abu Yusuf Bilal Ismail, and Abdullah Faysal who years before had insulted Awlaki, accusing Awlaki of preaching CIA Islam. Here now in this lecture, Awlaki was finally preaching "Faysal" Islam, in that it instigated hatred and distrust of the West, just like Faysal has made a career of doing (for some unknown funder). After the lectures, internet analysis revealed a heightened internet interest in Anwar al-Awlaki for months. At 49:08 Awlaki alludes to the Syrian Project which later would be known as the Gulf State desired "Salafist Principality". At 50:57 Awlaki refers to the George Bush description of the future Islamic State, a revelation that would actually come into fruition with the advent of the Islamic State under Abu Bakr al Baghadi! The organization that set up the skype conference called "Holding onto Hot Coals" was PureIslam Da'wah and Publications. According to internet searches, it appears this so called "company" existed only for this one event, which brings suspicion as to whether the entire setup was a project in incitement to violence or simply to psychologically study the effects of radical lectures on a group of Muslims.

In this lecture, pt1 and pt2, Awlaki discusses Muslim behavior as a minority. In discussing interfaith, he points out that the only reason for interfaith dialogue is to convert non-Muslims to Islam. This hints at his radical agenda. Awlaki propagandizes to the youth, stating that they have an opportunity to be like the Sahaba. Clearly he is implying establishment of an Islamic State. Also Awlaki mentions that Iraq and South Yemen were furthest from Islam. This makes his former criticism of the American Iraq invasion all the more puzzling, since he clearly believed that America provided the best opportunity for Muslims to practice their religion, yet American liberation of Iraq was not acceptable, even though he greatly criticized the Baathist control in Iraq, in this very lecture! Charles Allen, tireless analyst, assesses Awlaki

In October 2008, Allen warned that Anwar al-Awlaki "targets US Muslims with radical online lectures encouraging terrorist attacks from his new home in Yemen." Quoting Allen, Al-Awlaki responded in December 2008: "I would challenge him to come up with just one such lecture where I encourage 'terrorist attacks'". The FBI later investigated (but dismissed) al-Awlaki's connections to both the November 5, 2009 Fort Hood shooting sole suspect, Nidal Malik Hasan, as well as to the Northwest Flight 253 bombing attempt in which he is believed to have played a part in the al-Qaeda operation, and trained and blessed the suspect. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_E._Allen What is notable at this time, is that Awlaki felt it necessary to claim he did not encourage terrorist attacks. Awlaki had clearly lectured in Constants on the Path of Jihad for Muslims to go to war against America, and his prior lectures were very "inciting" in nature for Islamic youth, and yet he wanted to publicly assert his "one-up" in a play on words. Interestingly, Awlaki was playing a vain psychological game, in which he truly thought he was outsmarting others. In reality, one could interpret that his lectures predominantly encouraged fighting on the "front lines" rather than terrorist attacks in civilian places, but even this could be debated.

Storm goes back to Yemen

Morten Storm, along with his wife, traveled to Yemen, to bring the requested items to Awlaki. Solar Panels and other items were included but most notably, Storm gave Awlaki 5000 dollars. Strangely, though Storm and Awlaki had known each other since 2006, Awlaki took the money, kept it in his shirt pocket for a short while, and then strategically asked if he could buy weapons with the money. The delay which could have been about 15 minutes, indicates that Awlaki was instructed to ask the question or was apprehensive for some other reason. Morten replied that he could buy anything. Now, the interesting thing about this exchange, is that Awlaki's question appears to be born from a "handler". This question could be a test, of whether a Western government is targeting Awlaki or not, but this would only be known as a test, if Awlaki had been coached by his own handler that had experience in intelligence, military, or law enforcement services. The reply by Storm was equally troubling because he should have deferred to the Sheikh's Islamic sensibilities or the Ansar's, which feasibly could have caveats. But the more likely conclusion is that Awlaki and others were suspicious, that Storm might not be a real recruit, and perhaps they simply were not certain. Could Storm have been targeting Awlaki for the West, and Awlaki targeting Storm, for an unknown Gulf Security Service ? That is a question that needs to be asked.

Awlaki alters the scholarly writings of Al-Athir

In the same blog post preserved on cryptome noted above, Awlaki recounts a story with wild literary creativity. The story as told by al-Athir, tells of a ship with 700 soldiers and vast equipment and supplies, departing from Beirut. Muslims on the ships were besieged, killed, and some jumped off the sides of the ships, swimming to shore, and some drowned in their effort to swim ashore. Al-Athir says NOTHING about dismantling ships, sinking ships, or dying in the cause of Allah. But he does say that Yaqub al-Halabi went to the bottom of the ship to create a hole and sink it, so the Crusaders would not seize the equipment and food contained within the ship. There is another story on the internet about the history of Beirut that tells of dismantling a ship, reasonable in its strategic description but again there is no suicide and the sailors tried to get ashore after rendering the ship unusable. And yet another story on the internet by Ibn Kathir tells of 600 dying, because of siege by the King of England. However it does not reveal who lived to tell the story, which makes it a little bit suspicious. None of the stories mention martyrdom or the nobility of martyrdom in any way, shape, or form. Essentially, Awlaki has created a fictional account in his blog post, with the obvious intent, of motivating Muslims to die for useless jihad. The fact that this fictional storytelling occurs after Awlaki did the same thing with the so called "scholarly writings of one "Yusuf al-Ayeri, in his previous lecture "Constants on the Path of Jihad", clearly shows that Awlaki has a pattern of purposely inventing new narratives for ignorant Muslims who are willing to listen. Unfortunately, these new narratives are now exposed as as suicidal paths to self-elimination from the face of the Earth and have no hope of being anything but a small cultlike following with no real support from within the historical doctrine of Islam. This means that the vast majority of Awlaki's future followers will only be those who are not smart enough to check his sources and who are mentally broken enough, to believe that the religion of Islam could espouse nothing but simple violence as a means of showing allegiance. Awlaki feigns being a Middle Eastern Muslim as he blogs from the comfort of his Yemen home

Awlaki reports in his blog, about the CIA person in Algeria that allegedly raped two women. However, at the very end, he laments that while the USA mentions the news in the media, the Algerian Embassy in Washington DC had no immediate response. In his anger, he ends the post with "May Allah destroy you all!"
So, the problem with this, is that the proper Muslim ethic to project, when it comes to the honor of women, is to not mention the event publicly. Though abused, these women willingly went into the apartment of the American, however, as a Muslim, it is the community that is protected by keeping retribution for these events, in private. Therefore, the anger that Awlaki is professing at the lack of public announcement and display is purely Western, and highlights the "infiltrating" nature of Awlaki the Western, rather than the "purist" nature of Awlaki the true Jihadist.

Awlaki publishes 44 Ways to Support Jihad

In contrast to the older Al Qaeda Manual, Anwar al-Awlaki has written a document that sheds all tradecraft and covert behavior, and brazenly lists activist ways to support jihad. The interesting thing is that none are stealthy as the original Al Qaeda manual had advised, and all of the ideas are most likely to expose the jihadist to discovery by others and especially authorities. Curiously, the list of 44 topics in this document theoretically, could serve as an excellent guide for a UK policeman to establish "reasonable suspicion" that would soon be required for stops and searches, after the European Human Rights Court rescinded section 44 of the UK Terrorism law of 2000.

Qadimoon Limited distributes Awlaki CD's on the Islam Channel in UK

Throughout 2009 The Islam Channel promotes Awlaki speeches and sells Awlaki CD's under the company Al Qadimoon. Qadimoon Limited was a UK registered business from 2007 to 2014 with Director Muhammad Farzoq Awais and officers: Abdul Tahid, Iman Hussain, and Mohammad Miah. Muhammad Farzoq Awais also registered another UK company, 1Malaysia International Business Foundation with officers: Lesley Janet Batchelor-Collins, Mohd Radzi Bin Abd Latif, Mohamed Dan Bin Abdul Latiff, and Lee Chong Seong. Lesley Janet Batchelor-Collins was the director of Takeware Technologies, a company that developed a process of tracking pen drive insertion and pen drive file directories on networked computers and limiting access. This technology, called Takeware Gatekeeper, would have allowed instant notification to network admins of the presence of particular files on pen drives over large networks, a key technology that could have made Awlaki propaganda into a pointer mechanism, and effective in tracking terrorists. It is unknown if Takeware's software was actually utilized for this purpose. The year is 2009, 3 years after John Negroponte asked Ali Saleh to lock up Awlaki according to author Jeremy Scahill. Even if the Negroponte meeting is false, the analyst knowledge of Awlaki's instigating nature, especially from the rabid content in Awlaki's lecture "Constants on the Path of Jihad" proves, that Awlaki is dangerous and will alter anything in Islam to promote violence. Therefore, one is left to ask, what the hell is happening here... as England allows mass production of audio and video files from a legitimately registered company, that will be constantly uploaded and downloaded all over the internet in England, and in the world, that promote an Islamic cleric who has openly and brazenly called for violence against non-Muslims by Muslims ?

Awlaki Blog Post Blasts Tawfique Chowdhury

In a February 12, 2009 blog post on his own website, Awlaki attacks Sheikh Tawfique Chowdhury of allying with Western leaders. Apparently Chowdhury came up with the idea of Western Scholars being allies to Western generals in the fight against terrorism. Awlaki's point is that Terrorism is Islam and Chowdhury has no right to change Islam. It is ridiculous on its face, and highlights Awlaki's desire to appeal to the ignorant and heinous, in his bid to recruit a tiny but noticeable group from within Muslim groups, to conduct warfare against the West. Notably, Awlaki states, "What Shaykh Tawfique has done is protect dawa in exchange of tawhid. The institute and its instructors, and the spread of dawah have become more important than walaa’ and baraa’. This has become a serious and widespread problem." In blogging with this criticism, Awlaki is searching for those who reject Shaykh Tawfique. Quite simply, Awlaki is surfing off the popularity of someone else and looking for the rejectionists. In essence Awlaki is on a hunt, for anti-social losers whose confidence is drawn from hate of the kuffar.
Now, the most honest statement Awlaki makes in this post is, "If one is bent on selling his religion, then he should charge as much as he can for it." Awlaki fabricates Indian Muslim Persecution Story

In a February 26, 2009 blog post on his own website, Awlaki allegedly displays a comment posted to his website. The story recounts abuse of a Muslims' mother and sister, at the hands of Hindu police after the Gujarat Attacks. While this was a suspicious and horrible incident that involves the abuse of Muslims by Hindus with apparent sanction by local government, the story Awlaki publishes is not believable. On Awlaki's blog, this story is allegedly told by a 21 year old, recounting events from 7 years prior, when he was 14. The 21 year old refers to 5 years of rape and abuse of his mother and sister (by police) as "sexual perversion and orgies". The eventual end of the ordeal comes when the writer is 19 years old and tells his father to move to a "hindu majority area". The story is clearly fabricated and the use of impersonal descriptors gives it away.
So the big question is, why is Awlaki attempting to bait Muslims by creating a narrative based on an old violent act of discrimination, in India ?

The State of the Ummah
Among other issues, Awlaki calls for a khilafah or governance for the Muslims, which strangely foretells the rise of the Islamic State. Awlaki also commented on the Islamic state project in his Hearts and Minds speech in December 2007. One of the funnier moments in the Awlaki project occurs at 44:26, when the "planted" question by the Pakistani female, asks Awlaki for an opinion regarding the proper Islamic "Call to War" and to elaborate on the constant bombings of schools in Swat, PK. Awlaki's prepared answer requires him to read a word which inadvertently combined "which" and "is" into "whichis". Accordingly Awlaki answers the question, attempting to pronounce a typographical error, calling the Western media as "witches" from the written "whichis". This isn't the only time that Awlaki is caught by speechwriter error. He covers for it by crashing his own computer, then coming back online so he can effectively restart his response. His response, while ludicrous on its face, suggesting that almost 200 childrens schools were "bunkers for the government", is a bit predictive of where the Awlaki project would go after the mishap of Nidalhasan and the use of Abdulmutalab. Eventually with INSPIRE magazine, Awlaki himself would incorrectly initiate the "ISLAMIC CALL TO WAR" without the sanction of a ruler, as the female questioner correctly pointed out, is required by Islam. But in this moment, Awlaki simply screwed up his response, and even the prepared answer was quite weak as a way to justify almost 200 bombings of schools by terrorists in Pakistan. Lastly, this group Awlaki is speaking to, the shifastudentsociety, is a peculiar Islamic group at a MEDICAL SCHOOL UNIVERSITY that appears to blend Western thought with Islamic originalism, an almost square-peg, round-hole endeavor. Yet here is Awlaki jumping in and gleefully expounding on the righteousness of maiming and bloodifying young girls going to school in Pakistan, to a group of medical students, yielding an uncertain conclusion once again, on whether Awlaki is trying to reform islam, or destroy it. The setting in which this lecture takes place does suggest that the lecture and targeted audience are in essence, a radicalization psychology experiment, but this is not how this lecture was publicly propagated, on the internet. The lecture itself appears very artificial and surreal, as a room full of people sit obediently, listening to a deranged Awlaki calmly support the terrorizing and killing of young girls.

Appointment of Intelligence Community representatives

In May 2009, DNI Blair attempted to assert the DNI's role as the head of the intelligence community with a memo claiming authority to appoint CIA chiefs of station abroad. This was vehemently opposed by CIA Director Leon Panetta, who issued a memo of his own. Former DNI Mike McConnell and the first DNI, John Negroponte, were both unable to bring this role under the auspices of the DNI, it having been the province of the CIA since 1947. According to news reports, President Bush had to issue an executive order to give the DNI his congressionally-mandated powers to force the CIA and other intelligence agencies to cooperate with the ODNI. A number of government executives agree that the DNI should not have to go to the President each time the DNI wants to implement guidance. Late July 2009, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence backed the DNI, asking the CIA to give "prompt adherence" to the DNI's decision. However, on November 10, 2009, the White House decided in the CIA's favor, agreeing that the authority to appoint station chiefs overseas should remain with the CIA. Some intelligence experts believe this significantly weakens the DNI's authority, comparing the DNI to a DCI without an agency. Obama makes clear, in this speech, that he does not accept the "clash of civilizations" theory that strikes divisions between Muslims and non-Muslims, and calls for critical thinking to bridge the gap between both. Regrettably, a speechwriter misquotes the Quran, setting up the President to incorrectly state "The Holy Koran teaches that whoever kills an innocent, it is as if he has killed all mankind; and whoever saves a person, it is as if he has saved all mankind." - in fact, this quote from the Quran references the Jewish Talmud and clearly enunciates this as a rule for Jews, not for Muslims. Unfortunately, these ideas blind Mr. Obama to the possibility, that a critical thinking project is at work, manifest within the instigating words of Anwar al-Awlaki, possibly put forth by some of the deepest thinking minds within Islamic culture and governance, and very soon, the world will perceive this project being droned into oblivion. But it would not be without purpose, after all, droning Awlaki, aside from retribution for the upcoming Nidalhasan attack, would also diminish suspicions on empowering the Muslim Brotherhood, whose ideas for governance, harken from the same book quoted by one Anwar al-Awlaki, whose exposition of Islamic justifications should be raising concerns among Muslims, over the practicality of adhering to Islamic doctrine, in regard to matters of civil society and governance.

FBI Washington refuses to investigate Major Nidal Hasan after San Diego request

Despite the request of San Diego FBI, Washington does not investigate contacts between Anwar al-Awlaki, the (at this time) suspected planner of terrorist attacks and Major Nidal Hasan, a psychiatrist at Walter Reed Medical Center. The reasons given are that the agents do not investigate religious questions. What is so odd about this response is that originally a case was opened by the refusing office, WFO, and passed to San Diego, while Awlaki was allegedly in prison. So there must have been a reason, at least remotely related to John Negroponte's original alleged concern that Awlaki might incite toward violence. Despite the origin of Awlaki as a threat being loosely tied to Negroponte, FBI agents do not have the benefit of an in-depth understanding of what Anwar al-Awlaki is actually doing. Those who do, appear not to be saying either, because, while the free-speech fanatic has now for years, been instigating violence by altering Islam, in this moment, the American FBI is failing to recognize what has been documented for years, by other investigators. One possibility is that the President's opinion of Islam, is that it promotes peace and not violence, therefore a religious question is not to be investigated simply because it is a religious question with violent overtones. Fort Hood Shooting by Major Nidal Hasan triggered by Awlaki propaganda

Nidal Hasan, possibly following a blog post by Anwar al-Awlaki in January 2009 that said, "Today the world turns upside down when one Muslim performs a martyrdom operation. Can you imagine what would happen if that is done by seven hundred Muslims on the same day?!” decides to shoot his fellow soldiers in an act of jihad. In Nidal Hasan's mind he is protecting Muslims from impending death at the hands of American soldiers, even though he himself is also an American soldier.
On November 5, 2009, a mass shooting took place at Fort Hood, near Killeen, Texas. Nidal Hasan, a U.S. Army major and psychiatrist, fatally shot 13 people and injured more than 30 others. The shooting was the worst mass shooting on an American military base. Hasan was shot and as a result paralyzed from the waist down. Hasan was arraigned by a military court on July 20, 2011 and was charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted murder under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. His court-martial began on August 7, 2013. Due to the nature of the charges (more than one premeditated, or first-degree, murder case, in a single crime), Hasan faced either the death penalty or life in prison without parole upon conviction. On Christmas Eve 2009, Yemeni forces, with US help, launched an airstrike against al Qaeda leaders in Shabwa province. Awlaki survived, and Aminah was now in a panic to marry immediately. The Brits backed out and tried to get Storm to keep working for them. The CIA launched a muscular counteroffensive, flying Storm to a five-star resort in Iceland and upping his pay to $4,000 a month, with a $250,000 bonus for making this marriage happen. Storm went with the CIA. Two weeks later, the mission was on. “President Obama himself has been briefed on this,” one handler told Storm. This painful fact was explained by an expert chemist in an online post years before, nevertheless, this flawed bomb design was now sewn into the underwear of Omar. Much investigation has gone into this event, but if one focuses on all the internet record has to reveal from Patrick Kennedy and Kurt Haskell, it is easier to see that this righteous prosecution with the assistance of a shadowy and protected foreign source, has layers of secrecy yet unknown. While airline stock prices immediately dropped on the news, shares of companies that make airport security devices such as OSI Systems (OSIS) and ICx Technologies (ICXT) enjoyed a rally on Monday and Tuesday. Indeed, calls from security experts for full-body scans were soon heard, stirring the old debate about the proper balance between security measures and privacy concerns. Right now, these scans are voluntary, but some analysts are betting on the stricter measures. Awlaki's Message to America, reminiscent of his final Dar al-Hijrah mosque speech, was a customized script written for Awlaki but not by Awlaki.(perhaps the elusive "Mujahid Fi Sabeelillah is at work again ?) The use of memory bias, attempts to convince the listener that the messsage is legitimate but Awlaki's awkward delivery reveals the words not to be his, and as a result, far less convincing than the author likely hoped for. More notably, at 4:33 Awlaki mysteriously complains, in an almost subordinate manner, that Obama has not released the emails between Anwar and Omar Farouk. If that is so important, Anwar al-Awlaki could release those emails himself, but he does not. Clearly he does not feel empowered to do so. And the implications of that, are not insignificant. A few months later, in May 2010, the first issue of INSPIRE magazine is released, including a transcript of this engineered speech. Consider for a moment, that Awlaki did not release his emails. One question that comes to mind, is what if he thought he was working for the USA, but in reality he was working for a foreign government, or worse... a non-state entity, such as a contractor misrepresenting himself ? Given his isolation, the implications are enormous. The danger of Awlaki as a rogue element with a handler who is an imposter, is huge.

"Al-Awlaki is a one trick pony whose messaging capability was beginning to be cornered by various American and Western Muslim community efforts until this administration overreacted after the Christmas Day bomber tried to blow up a plane over Detroit and inflamed Anwar’s stature many fold. Alawaki’s message is largely one of righteous self-sacrifice to defend one’s religion, so the proper way of countering it is not to assassinate the messenger so that he achieves “martyr” status. Instead the more effective method would have been to have mainstream clerics from Anwar’s same Salafi version of Islam expose his disingenuousness and unsound Islamic logic to the youth in the population currently sitting on the sidelines watching geo-political struggles unfold around the globe and wondering what their role in it ought to be. In field experience where research meets reality, I’ve witnessed first-hand what happens when a Western Muslim youth is properly engaged to separate Islamic jurisprudence from geo-politics; the youth picks Islam over the political activism Al-Awlaki pitches every time. Today Al-Awlaki is not celebrated by the core of Al Qaeda members, nor even trusted to be in direct communications with them. Second, due to his ambitious usurping of jihadi credentials he has earned disdain in numerous jihad-oriented Islamist circles including from Yemen’s top Islamist figure, Sheikh Abdul-Majeed Al-Zaindani, himself counter-productively placed on the Designated Terror List. Harold Koh announces his legal rationale for assassination by drone

On May 25, 2010, Harold Koh declared, "US targeting practices, including lethal operations conducted with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, comply with all applicable law, including the laws of war." Prior to this public speech, according to Jeremy Scahill, in his book Dirty Wars, Koh had been given access to intelligence on Awlaki that revealed multiple plots to kill Americans and Europeans" Undoubtedly it was this access that convinced Koh to conceive the legal rationale for the Awlaki drone strike. The AWLAKI PROJECT publishes INSPIRE Magazine #1 - Islamic Call to War

Despite the success at inciting jihadists to violence with youtube videos, the Awlaki Project decides to now publish a magazine. Jihadist magazines are nothing new on the warfront, but usually they have been in Arabic. Now in all its splendor, this English language propaganda magazine, that strangely will almost always be published first in English, then as an afterthought in Arabic, and other languages, is released for distribution. The first edition is corrupted by a cupcake recipe, seemingly from the desktop of a female who publishes pdf documents for USAID. Despite the obvious intelligence agency insider joke, numerous reporters simply make fun of the cupcake recipe and later the Brits take blame for the corruption claiming expertise in hacking. This pronouncement asserts their firsthand knowledge of the release of this propaganda series. Yet, later issues would be released unabated. The link between England and Inspire is further reinforced by pictures that will frequent editions in which the creation of destructive devices are instructed on, always by the same portly, effeminate, male subject, utilizing tools exclusively available for purchase at British hardware stores. Interestingly, an encryption key is provided for use on the Mujahideen Secrets program, indicating that Awlaki trusted the use of this program, and quite likely had used it many times before. The most important self-defining statement in INSPIRE magazine, is the opening alteration of Islamic Doctrine, specifically the Quran Chapter 8, verse 65. This historical "CALL TO WAR" which utilizes the word "Harid" which means "Instigate", is redefined by Awlaki as the English word "Inspire". Unbelievably, American institutions, subtly propagandized by a complicit media, redefine the religious "call to jihad" which is by definition, a historical civil mandate within Islamic societies, into the word Inspire. This hijacking of American rhetoric, now proceeds to setup ignorant investigative agencies to ignore the step by step, mechanics of incitement to violence, with a prejudged notion that terrorist have been "inspired" so there is little else to know, in regard to how terrorists receive their instructions. This small bit of propaganda so profoundly stupifies analysts and law enforcement personnel, that for years on end, experts will constantly claim that the rise of violent jihadists has no pattern of predictability, despite the fact, that the entire basis for Awlaki's instigation of jihad violence, is simply based on the ISLAMIC CALL TO WAR, being implemented without the consent of a ruler, which was absolutely and traditionally required, in Islamic history. One of the articles, "The Fight Over the Mountains" chronicles the destruction of the statues under the Fatwa of Mullah Omar in 2000, lionizing a textbook example of an "establishment of an Islamic State". In another article Awlaki thanks the publishers of Inspire, for allowing him to write. The fact that Awlaki was directly controlling the 5 recruits in his house, indicates that Awlaki's tone, was directed at a separate entity, not his hosted youth. So the mystery of who the Inspire Magazine crew really was, only deepened as the magazine continued well after Awlaki's death and the disappearance or arrest of his hosted youth, that served as patsy's for the origins of the Inspire Magazine.

Awlaki Cargo Plane Bomb plot

A strange sequence of events led to the discovery of two TATP bombs en route to former Jewish synagogues in Chicago, and addressed to two historical figures from the Crusades and Inquisition. At least one, if not both facilities were closed and empty. On October 28, Saudi Arabia's Deputy Interior Minister in charge of Counter-terrorism, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, called John Brennan, the U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism and former Central Intelligence Agency station chief in Riyadh to warn him of the plot. The Saudis provided the U.S. and Germany with the tracking numbers and destinations of the packages, and told them to look for toner cartridges.The packages had been dropped off by a woman at FedEx and UPS offices in Sana'a, Yemen, on October 27, and were scheduled to arrive in Chicago on November 1. Saudi Arabia had reportedly learned of the plot through Jabir Jubran Al Fayfi, a former Guantánamo Bay detention camp inmate who had been handed over to Saudi Arabia for rehabilitation in 2006. Al-Faifi had escaped in 2008 and re-joined AQAP, but turned himself in to Saudi authorities on October 16, 2010, and provided them with information about the plot. Yemen officials suspected al-Faifi had not actually rejoined al-Qaeda, but had become a double agent. Who were these guests and did Warsame offer any information about these possible original authors of INSPIRE ? Minh Quang Pham is arrested at Heathrow Airport

Pham was arrested at London's Heathrow Airport upon his return to Britain from Yemen in July 2011. Prior to landing in Britain, Pham was searched and interrogated in Bahrain for 6 hours. A search of his belongings in Britain discovered electronic files setting out his links to AQAP as well as a live round of armor-piercing ammunition, (both items apparently being of non-interest or were missed by the Bahraini airport authorities) capable of being used in a Kalashnikov assault rifle. He would eventually inform FBI agents, in 2015, that Samir Khan provided him with tutorials to learn graphic design, he designed three backgrounds for INSPIRE magazine, and that Awlaki taught him to construct a bomb. Pham stated that Samir Khan had the templates for Inspire on his laptop. Specifically it is reported that Awlaki made a "powder" explosive, allegedly TATP, in one day. Yet numerous internet recipes show the complete process to powder taking 2 or 3 days. Pham's quick apprehension showed that Awlaki did not teach Pham stealth, when traveling through an airport.

The irrelevance of al-Awlaki to Yemenis is one of the few things that unites pro and anti-Saleh people. Al-Awlaki was primarily known in the English speaking world because that was his thing, he spoke in English and gave al-Qaeda a weapon to use in their attempts to gain the support of Western Muslims. In Yemen itself, however, many Yemenis see AQAP as a smokescreen created, or at least aided, by Saleh’s regime to garner support from the West. Fingers are already being pointed to the suspicious coincidence of al-Awlaki’s death occurring a matter of days after Saleh’s return to Yemen. A sign for the Americans that they have to deal with Saleh? Or an indication that the regime knew where al-Awlaki was all along? The publishing of Inspire 9 with commentary on the death of Awlaki proves that INSPIRE magazine is a team project that is still in operation. Bizarrely INSPIRE 8 has an article written by a high-academic, quoting Machiavelli and citing Pakistan-British history. Puzzling in its placement, it gives the appearance that a University crew may have captured the INSPIRE project and has now commandeered it for their own purposes. The INSPIRE 9 issue contained a preface with the following statement in regard to sharia and the Arab Spring:"They came out not only to demand their basic freedoms and rights, but to establish the Sharia that will give them their rights in this world and more in the hereafter. Have not the West seen that clearly in Libya, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and lately in Syria?!" However, what is odd about this, is that in each of these countries, it was well known that the complaints of the people were secular and economic in nature, and not religious. Therefore, once again, the propaganda nature of INSPIRE is highlighted. So what does this mean?..It means INSPIRE was not meant to affect the Arab Spring as such, but instead, to use deception to trick the reader, into believing things that are untrue." Another confusing statement, allegedly by Awlaki, is in the following excerpt, "Anyways, the plans to have me as one of the many thousand men and women around the world who have their loyalty to the US did not go through. I wasn’t suitable for that role anymore. I was a fundamentalist now!" The problem with this statement, is that it is an "outsiders" point of view on Islam. By using the RAND created label of "fundamentalist" the writer feigning to be Awlaki is self describing Awlaki with a condescending description that describes a narrow thinking Muslim seeking violent means to Global Islamic Domination. Even more over the top however, is INSPIRE 9's mandate that individual attackers send an email with all of their personal information, locale, passports, and targets and other pertinent information, via mujahideen secrets. In essence, this mechanism pinpoints the location and intention of the jihadist to the email recipient. So you can assess that for whatever its worth.

Chris Stevens, Ambassador to Libya, is killed by Al Qaeda group Ansar al-Sharia

Chris Stevens was attacked, trapped in a safe room, and the room was deliberately covered in diesel fuel and ignited in an obvious attempt to smoke him out. But Stevens remained behind a locked door too long and then staggered to another location and passed out from the smoke. The Ansar al-Sharia militants chasing him failed to apprehend him by the time locals came upon the scene and discovered his unconscious body. After being taken to an Ansar al-Sharia controlled hospital, attempts were made to recover him, but he died. As a result, the Ansar al-Sharia militants were no longer interested in taking him. The obvious kidnap attempt remains a mystery, as to motive, to this day. Strangely, this event was shrouded in a myth of a protest due to an internet video. Ansar al-Sharia was instructed to give not just one, but two, press conferences, so that the correctly constructed explanation could be provided to the International Press. This event stands as the only time in history that a terrorist group executed an attack and held two back to back press conferences to explain the event in detail.

Hawija Clashes in Iraq

Originally, right after 9/11 Anwar al-Awlaki began his own campaign to encourage Muslims to become politically active in America. He did so, touting not only the opportunities within American activism, he layered them into Islam, calling them a form of "Ibadah". Yet this drive into activism, transformed into a call for radicalism in as early as 2003, if not earlier, for Awlaki. Eerily, in a most similar fashion, Sunni leaders in Iraq had been motivated by American consultants and funded by Saudi Arabia, rallying persecuted Muslims against the predominantly Shiite government. And predictably, this bid for civil activism, became radicalism. For Iraq, the desire to right the wrongs of society, defaulted to the 7th century belief, that Allah acts through the hands of man, and teaches the ruler a lesson, 7th century style. Sunni protests, sit-ins, and demands for more rights have continued for about 2 years, supported by the US, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. However, the inability of Sunni-Shia relations to settle, combined with Gulf State desire for a Syrian revolution make peace in Iraq unlikely. While a revolution could have proceeded in Syria without Iraq involvement, too many US troops have been removed from Iraq to keep a civil peace, something the Maliki government has no interest in establishing. As a result, the Sunni Instigation toward Syrian war becomes an Iraq/Syria project for the Islamic State in Iraq, with many Sunnis from within and outside of Iraq willing to join. The removal of President Morsi in Egypt, quashes the dreams of the Muslim Brotherhood to prove their ability to rule a government in the Middle East. Perhaps an allegation of collusion with Al Qaeda did not help assert the constitutionality of Morsi's presidency. This failure destroys hope for a government that could have bound North Africa to Turkey in a political alliance that might have had substantial moral authority to effectuate change in the Middle East. Awlaki uploads continue, but not from jihadists

Strangely, Awalaki propaganda uploads are typically spliced, layered with heavy graphic design, and almost never supported by interactive commenters. The subsequent twitter jihadist revolution and its traits of open communication on twitter and facebook, essentially "out" the Awlaki uploads as intelligence propaganda, by individuals who are not allowed to support their work with opinion. The absolute proof of this is in the twitter jihad which much more authentically provided a platform for widespread open communication and debate, revealing no restraint at all, on the part of recruiters to jihad. After THE AWLAKI PROJECT established itself as a seamless lesson in the history of Islam leading directly to a mandate to jihad, countless online propagandists uploaded their doctored and edited creations as a means to entice and trick young people into the slippery slope of AWLAKI-ism, worldwide. Yet, comments were now limited to token requests for the names of Nasheeds and the overuse of the word "akhi" as a casual reference to other minimal likings of the posted video. Awlaki's original call in his Hearts and Minds speech had been for an Iraq based caliphate though many people perceived his work as having something to do with AQAP and Yemen. It is true that the USA almost put massive troops into Yemen, but then decided not to, and perhaps Awlaki thought his project scared that idea away. Of course in reality, no one wanted to make a worthless investment. In the end, the Awlaki propaganda would go on to cause mentally defective people all over the West, to donate their lives in a vain attempt to balance power between Sunnis and Shiites in Western Iraq.

Aside from bloviating over the Boston Bombers, this edition stands out for its signed message inciting American Muslims to violence. The signator is "Jonas the Rebel" an obvious throwback to Angolan rebel Jonas Savimbi, whom Reagan provided a secret weapon, stinger missiles. Prior to obtaining these missiles the South Africans goaded Jonas to travel the USA and enlist the support of constituencies, that would cast his anti Angolan-Cuban government hence "communist" enemy as the evil, in a good versus evil battle. That wasn't too hard and indeed Jonas the Rebel got his stingers. Quite similarly the Awlaki Project also has enticed a constituency into action, and much like the Angolan War, the contribution of willing souls after strategic propaganda, is an intended stalemate. The Awlaki project clearly is being run by people who see their work product from the outside in, and resultingly, they unavoidably condescend upon it.

Within this magazine, the article titled "The Battle of Marathon" showcases the author's inability to avoid condescending upon Islam and Islam's culture. While on the face of things, the magazine appears to promote Islamic Jihad, this article, playing up the Boston Bombing includes citation of the Battle of Marathon, a defeat for Persians yet victory for Greeks, the society whose ideals founded Western Democracy. Stating that Wall Street is not to blame for oppression upon Muslims, runs contrary to the very foundation of the 9/11 attack. And while one could interpret the March 11 date of the Madrid Train Bombings as being close to the "Ides of March", its inaccurate application highlights the author's enthtrallment with history, as opposed to a mindset of Islamic superiority. Clearly this article is written by a Western author who is literally unable to hide his disdain for Islamism and his love for Western civilization. To top it off, use of the name "Abu Abdillah Almoravid" is a throwback to the Almoravid Dynasty, that was mocked by its conquerer for decadence and effeminacy.

The NSC has now been abolished

Just two days after President Obama's visit to Riyadh, King Salman has sacked several of the princes who met with the U.S. delegation. According to U.S. and Saudi reporting of the January 27 summit, talks between the two leaders were dominated by national security topics, including Iran, the "Islamic State"/ISIS, and Yemen. It is therefore surprising that the most senior departure is Prince Khaled bin Bandar, the head of Saudi intelligence, who sat near the king during the discussion. Although Khaled has been retained as an "advisor" to the king, this is usually thought of as an irrelevant position. He has been replaced by Khaled bin Ali bin Abdullah al-Humaidan, a nonroyal former general who was already a senior intelligence official. Also out is Prince Bandar bin Sultan, the secretary-general of the Saudi National Security Council, former ambassador to Washington, and former intelligence chief who was viewed as one of the late King Abdullah's closest confidants. The NSC has now been abolished, along with the Supreme Petroleum Council and other top advisory bodies. Another casualty is King Abdullah's son Prince Turki, the sacked governor of Riyadh province who had greeted President Obama at the airport and bid him farewell upon his departure. Prince Mansour bin Mitab bin Abdulaziz -- the minister of municipalities and rural affairs who was in the welcoming line for the president -- was also demoted to "advisor," even though Salman had confirmed all current cabinet members only a week before. Outed British Double Agent bolsters Awlaki legitimacy

While secret agents are not typically revealed in the papers, in an interesting clarification of history in this late year of 2015, double agent, Aimen Dean, recounts in an ExpressandStar article, entitled, "7/7 bombers attended lecture in Dudley" that 3 of the 4 7/7 bombers attended an Anwar al-Awlaki lecture in 2003. Apparently the home office had a camera across the street and took pictures of everyone entering the house, though the 3 bombers somehow were not identified. Aside from an errant article allegedly published by Shaykh Hammed al-Tameemi, the article allegedly authored by Ibrahim bin Hassan Al-Asiri, states "According to the American vision, wars will continue in the Middle East until the break-up of the regimes that do not call for American values, an example is Saudi regime – although this might be gradually." This shows the authors affection for Saudi Arabia and reinforces the notion that the actual authors of INSPIRE are a psychological operations crew based in Saudi Arabia and quite possibly are in fact, the "Arab Crew" as witnessed by one Minh Quang Pham during his time in Yemen. After the revelation that ISIS was spawned by a merger between Baathists and old AQI, while residing in Camp Bucca, despite a limited campaign and a trickling of weapons support to Kurds, ISIS rages on, virtually convinced of their invulnerability as a reluctant USA piddles and the Iraq Shiite army stumbles, in its efforts to fight against the radical Islamic fighting force. And despite the bold assertion by Nawaf Obaid, that a USA pullout of troops would result in massive Saudi intervention, no sign of that intervention can be seen, beyond casual pricey weapons and a US TOW missile here, and there. Awlaki's daughter by 2nd wife, is allegedly killed

Purely coincidentally, as Awlaki's 8 year old daughter, suddenly becomes vulnerable to the oft common child marriage age in Yemen, not only is she mysteriously caught up at the Dahab family camp, home of serious Al Qaeda members, but she also is killed in an American Special Forces attack. Original reporting to Al Jazeera Egypt stated that two individuals were taken in an American helicopter but this was later reported as not being the case. Nevertheless, the reported death of Awlaki's daughter upon marriage age in Yemen while hanging out in an Al Qaeda camp, was unfortunate.

The Islamic state is very similar to Saudi Arabia

Despite jurisprudence which is virtually identical, The Islamic State, punishes with literal and historical hudud (punishments) and Saudi Arabia, aside from beheadings, tends to suspend the hudud in favor of prison terms. Also Saudi Arabia does not televise its punishments for Homosexuality, Adultery, and Stealing. But one of the interesting things about the Islamic State and their vast media campaign, is how the world villifies the Islamic State but NOT Saudi Arabia, even though many similarities exist in how they administrate justice.
